Royal Garden - Northumberland

Poor services waited 1hour 10 mins for main meal! After chasing it up with waiter who then ignored us. Eventually found out that our order had been lost !!!

The dining experience was wonderful. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was quick and efficient. I especially enjoyed the hot appetizer starter. I will definitely come back, and I appreciate that they are open in the afternoon as well.

I was with a group of friends. The waitress was lovely and patient. Our starters and main courses took a long time but due to the size of the group understandable. The food was great My criticism is that I asked for extra lettuce for my veg lettuce wrap parcels (only 3 given and charged for extra lettuce) and when I asked to take my yummy tofu away as I was full, was told there was a charge for the container. It’s not the money. It’s how it made me feel like I was trying to get something for nothing. The food was great but the extra charges, and how it made me feel, means I’m not keen to visit again soon.

Above average Chinese restaurant in the main street. Nothing special but more importantly absolutely nothing wrong. Efficient staff and good value.

We made a reservation for 6:30 pm at this restaurant, as we had a toddler in our group of eight. Our food order was taken promptly upon arrival, but we had to wait an hour for our starters to arrive. After they were cleared, we were given hot plates and eagerly awaited our main dishes. Unfortunately, they took a long time to come out and our plates were cold by the time we were served. At 8:40 pm, we had to inquire about our main meals, as we had a tired and hungry toddler to deal with. When our dishes finally arrived at 8:45 pm, 2 hours and 15 minutes after our reservation, it was clear they had been rushed as they were poorly cooked. My peppers were almost raw, ruining our family meal. The only explanation given was that they were busy, but it was a Saturday night and they have had busier evenings before. Overall, a very disappointing experience and we are not likely to return.
