Purdy Lodge Bar Grill Restaurant

We were on a visit to Bamburgh Castle when we hit a massive pothole. Limped back to the Purdy Service Station. No help from the hire car company at all so luckily we found the Purdy Lodge. Whilst Hubbie is trying to get the car sorted, I booked us in for bed, dinner and breakfast. All I can say is what a really lovely stay we had. Room was more that adequate and comfy. Dinner was really lovely, bed great, breakfast really nice. Staff could not have been more helpful and given our circumstances, we really appreciated that they went beyond by offering us to use their landline. Perfect place to visit, stopover on a trip. Highly recommend.

6 of us stayed 2 nights had breakfast and supper could not fault meals we all had different meals over the 2 days 2 other family members joined us for tea and they also enjoyed it.Rooms were spotless,Staff were friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble thank you for a lovely stay.

Came for evening meal with my husband and have to say it was a lovely meal the prawn cocktail was so creamy was fab the steak pie with chios and veg was one of the best I have had when out the veg were perfect and husband said steak was also very nice I would defo recommend it and will be going back for sure

I will never return to this restaurant even if I was paid to do so. The place needs to be shut down and completely renovated. It was cold and miserable, the food was terrible with reheated bacon and cold coffee. As a haulage company with 13 lorries, we will not be returning and have lost our business. I advise other lorry drivers to avoid this place and drive straight on to a lay-by instead. The toilets were dirty and the male shower was too hot and damp. There was rubbish blowing everywhere, making it seem like a landfill or a deserted place. When I contacted Purdy Lodge, I received a text message response from an employee named Nicola who needs training on email etiquette. The staff, in general, need training on customer service as starting an email with "hi" is not professional. I have posted a review on Tripadvisor to warn other lorry drivers about wasting their time and money at this establishment.

This restaurant review is extremely negative. The bathrooms were dirty and smelled of urine, with soggy toilet paper and sticky floors. The coffee and cake served in the cafe were disgusting, with coffee residue in the drinks and expired brownies and scones. After getting fresh coffee, they were fine, but overall the cafe was filthy with dirty table legs and carpets. The reviewer does not recommend this overpriced and dirty cafe.
