Oriental Pearl - Northumberland

The restaurant has extremely poor customer service, with delivery times exceeding 2.5 hours. They do not answer the phone after orders are placed and have consistently provided incorrect meals without offering exchanges or replacements. I received raw prawn batter balls with stone cold liquid batter inside, which is extremely unsafe. I have given them multiple chances but the consistently wasted, tasteless, late, cold, and raw meals are not worth the risk.

By miles, Oriental Pearl is the best Chinese takeout restaurant in this area. The food is always hot when it arrives, always very fresh, and has an incredible flavor to top it off. The guy working at the desk is a genuine good man who is very friendly. My orders always arrived quickly and I have always been very impressed by the quality of the food served. A must-try if you haven't tried anything from here before. Best Chinese in Morpeth, by far. Thank you, Craig.

We have been customers at the Oriental Pearl for many years. The owner is always polite and so friendly. The quality of the food is excellent, fresh and full of flavour. We usually order Chicken Kung Po, we have also enjoyed Szechuan chicken and beef and black bean sauce, chicken chow mein and chicken with spring onion and ginger (this dish was so refreshing and full of pieces of ginger and spring onions delicious) chicken fried rice, and pineapple chicken, prawn crackers and mini spring rolls and mini trigon oh and chips in gravy. We enjoy a meal from here at least once a week and are always happy. In fact writing this review has made me want one so badly I'm going to order our meals now instead of our usual Friday!

I'll be honest here ... decided to opt for this takeaway over our usual for the simple reason I'd had a couple of glasses of wine so wouldn't drive and they offered home delivery. I'm so glad we did it was great and will probably become our regular place to go now. The person taking the order was very helpful as we were ordering without a menu and just going with what we usually choose from our regular Chinese takeaway. He offered suggestions for new dishes too. The delivery driver was delayed due to roadworks but we received a phone call to update us. He was very apologetic when he arrived even though this was not his fault. Food was great. I would particularly recommend the crispy chicken with green chilli but only if you can take your chillis hot! Good value for money and very reasonable delivery charge too. Well worth a visit or a home delivery!
