If you're looking for a fish and chips, you might pass by there. Very simple place, like most takeaway fish and chips/kebabs and not very expensive but not the cheapest also (I had the large cob chips for about 5,90£ but it sure was...enough) As you'll expect, the fish is pretty fresh and tasty (and obviously the best part) but the hiccup was the chips. Man were they dry ! They surely aged a bit from the cooking, and since I asked for some salt, it was a bit of a struggle to finish them. In summary : it fills you for an okay price, but it could improve the chips

I live in the village and going to any other fish and chip shop, when away in the UK can be 90% of the time, a disappointment. Excellent consistent quality, speed of service, reasonable prices(not cheap and neither is the product) friendliness and helpfulness...of the staff, both on the front counter and also the fryers/back kitchen staff, and waitresses in the restaurant is great. Great portion size’s from big fish down to cod bites and fresh as it is never empty and food is not sitting. They no longer use polystyrene packaging it’s paper tray’s and boxes and bags all the way which is great. Plenty of parking within 200 yards, in front of it, over the bridge next Melton pub or across the road alongside the harbour right round to Collywell Bay, although sometimes you would not think it seeing some desperate parking. I have seen queues to get served on hot bank holidays, out of the door and over the bridge mind. The fish shop and restaurant are equally good in terms of product and service. We did have a family friend who visited and was looking for somewhere to eat out of season for us and his children’s families(17 or 18 of us in total). Unbeknown to us he rang them and although the restaurant was ment to be closed, they opened the restaurant for him... and us. He and all of us had a great meal and were impressed. All in all we are blessed with an excellent eatery.. : G

This is one of the best fish and chip shops in northumberland . They also do meat and cheese patties ,pies ,fish cakes ,sausages,the size of their large fish could feed two or three people

This place has changed it's name to the Harbour View but it's still just as good if not better! The Fish and Chips are simply the best ever
