Fantoosh - Northumberland

The very definition of a cosy relaxed cafe decorated in homely fabrics and with friendly staff with the most gorgeous cakes freshly made by the owner. Fully vegetarian light bite menu also looked lovely. Only about 8 tables and a couple of sofas but a welcoming vibe. We shall be back...the chocolate and walnut cake makes the journey from Wooler well worthwhile !

We came across this tearoom after leaving the car park, it is located along side the city wall at one end. The staff were friendly and busy. They bake the cakes on site and the smell was wafting through the shop, anything to get the taste buds working overtime! It was a good cup of coffee and the cheese scone, which had just come out of the oven, was delicious. It was a shame couldn't go back for lunch but time didn't allow us to.

This restaurant is a great discovery with excellent tea and coffee, as well as the most delicious scones we've had in a while. We had a choice of cheese, lemon, and blueberry scones, and although they weren't your typical shape, they were warm and very tasty. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed them!

Delightful stylish and comfortable tea room environment, great location by Castle gate car park. Excellent cakes, soups, sandwiches, salads...good choice and range of ingredients.
