Martoni - Northport

I may receive criticism for describing this small gelato/sandwich spot as European, but I don't mind. In America, we often expect restaurants to be large with extensive menus and multiple TVs in every corner. Having traveled throughout Europe, I appreciate the simplicity of this place offering a limited menu of delicious food, a glass of wine, or freshly made gelato. It reminds me of the cozy lunch spots I enjoyed in Italy, while sitting on Main Street in Northport, New York. I wish them success.

Martoni's is a hidden gem in the village of Northport, located just across from the post office. As soon as you step inside this small, cozy trattoria, you'll feel like you've been transported to Italian heaven. Their menu may be limited, but every dish is delicious and of the highest quality, professionally prepared. The paninis are fantastic, the soups and salads are delightful, and their entrees and sides are all excellent. Personally, I loved the meatballs and the eggplant parmigiana - the layered eggplant was the best I've ever had, with delicate flavors that really stood out. And to top it all off, their homemade gelato is simply superb. I highly recommend giving Martoni's a try - you won't be disappointed. Bon Appétit!

This restaurant offers the best sandwiches made with fresh gourmet ingredients and served with friendly service. They also have a cute market where you can shop for imported Italian goods. I tried the diavolo sandwich and it was amazing, especially the Calabrian hot pepper spread. If you haven't been here yet, you need to go!

Nino is 1 hell of a guy.... great food.. The gelato is unreal!!! Everything imported from Italy. Great spot!

Adorable little Italian cafe. Stop here for an espresso, panini con prosciutto and leave with a gelato.
