The Common Cafe - Northfield

Very pleasant little place. Limited menu but decent preparation, very pleasant service.

Today, we visited the Common Cafe for a meal. Unfortunately, no one greeted us or showed us to our table. After waiting for 15 minutes, we approached the front where four women were just staring at us. When I asked for assistance, a girl mentioned someone would help us when they could. Meanwhile, the four women did nothing. A man came in and was promptly served coffee and asked for his order. Feeling ignored, I approached the front again and was told to wait for someone to assist us. We were the only multiracial family in the restaurant and felt unwelcome. Ultimately, I expressed my concerns about their treatment and we decided to leave.

The food was excellent and reasonably priced. However, the manual process of creating my bill and checking me out made me feel like my business was more of a burden for the staff than receiving my food. Despite this, I had a good overall experience and would definitely dine there again.

Nice hometown Cafe. Good food, nice portions, fair prices.

Small simple place, but they do offer a great breakfast! Eaten there a couple of times. Have to say the biscuits and gravy were awesome!
