El Tequila Mexican - Northfield

The chicken carnitas were disappointing; they felt more like a bland cat dish than anything else. There was a lack of peppers and onions. Additionally, I was charged $1.75 for a small bowl of cold jalapeños, which I would have preferred to be included hot in the dish. The salsa was good, though. I’m giving it 3 stars, all for the salsa.

Really? Nicely surprised. Margaritas taste a little sweet, but sufficiently strong. We ordered the menu item and the queen. Tripe was a little stinking in a very good way. It should taste as it is. Service was attentive and friendly. Will do it again.

Food was really good with everything what we ordered. We enjoyed it a lot and it was one of the best mexican food we have eaten in Minnesota. There was not much waiting time and chips and salsa was served until food arrived. Interior is also cozy and has nice paintings, one of them really funny of a dancing couple. ??

Update: I received my replacement food, and it's still not correct. I ordered three "las mexicanas"—one red, one green, and one white—but instead I got one red, one green, and one that was supposed to be topped with white sauce but isn't. The middle one is completely bare, not even with cheese. I strongly recommend staying away from this place until they learn how to accurately take and fulfill orders!

Great food and value. Next time I think I'll have them add a bit more heat but certainly no complaints. And there will definitely be a next time..
