Contribuiți la feedbackThis was a casual lunch with my Dad and my partner. We were seated between a bunch of other diners but thankfully no kids in our area. Service was quick and attentive. Food took about 15 20 minutes to arrive but that was expected on a Sunday lunchtime. My order of scallops, black pudding and mushy peas were nice but the peas really did seem to be tinned. Dad's burger was cooked well and nicely presented but again, seemed to be mass produced. Same for the HYunters Chicken my partner ordered it wasn't anything special but tasted fine and was nicely presented. The puddings were in a different class. We all ordered mini puddings but they semed to be normal size. Eton Mess was gorgeous, brownie with ice cream was very good and the crumble was crisp and fruity with lovely custard. The espresso coffees were a little bitter but piping hot. Suggest that a small liqueur is offered with these mini puddings, as we have had that combination in France and it was a good way to round off a meal. I was a little disappointed that The Windhover has become a chain restaurant, something like a classy Harvester. The menu a few years ago was much more bespoke... A very pleasant lunch, overall but I'm not sure I'll be rushing back.
We booked here for Valentines Day, and even though the restaurant was packed we had a very nice meal, and very good service. Many thanks!
Open Table app booking made and confirmed was not known to The Windhover when arrived. Managed to get a table in the bar area
Lovely ambience friendly staff good tasty food value for money.
Very dissapointing , sat in the waitress served area for a change , no attention at all . The windhover is our local , but from now on we will be looking for a new one
