Hung Fung - Northampton

I have been to this restaurant several times, and this time we tried the crispy beef. The portion size was incredibly small, to the point of feeling like theft. The food tasted average, but for £5.90, it was definitely not worth it. I would not recommend ordering this dish if you are hungry.

Just had a fantastic takeaway: chicken curry pineapple with boiled rice. Ordered online (restaurants own website! using a very user friendly system. Food arrived on time piping hot. Highly recommended.

I have been going to hung fung restaurant for 15 years. I used to know the previous owner Henry and had a lovely friendship with him and then he passed away and new owners came into place. I still eat at hung fung as we’ve always gone there for so many years why wouldn’t we. Recently the service has dropped and been awful and tonight was one of them. Ordered food, didn’t get to us till 1 hour and 40 mins later, called up and was told driver is running behind and just left be 10-15 minutes, called up 30 mins later and was then told he would ring the driver to see where he was. Driver got to us we Asked the driver when did he leave the restaurant and he said “about 30 mins ago” we felt the food in the bag and it was barely warm. Now abit of background, I was at my mums, I have a baby and we wanted to eat as a family all together which we don’t get to do often since having a baby. I should have left my mums before the driver arrived so I could go back to put the baby to bed as he was so tired. Which I could of done if the food had arrived in estimated time which was 45 mins. I was very upset when the food finally got to us as it meant I had to take my share and leave to get home and we couldn’t eat together. We rang up before taking the food from the driver and asked for money off due to the nearly 2 hour wait and inconvenience and we were told he would take off 10% which worked out to be £3.70... do you think this is fair for a nearly 2 hour wait, inconvenience and upset to the family, for Luke warm food? We have been loyal customers for over 10 years and found that the customer service was shocking. I’m disgusted and upset and will never be ordering from here ever again. If this was handled by a sympathetic owner that apologised and meant it, that possibly could have called us an hour into our order and make us aware they were running behind take an appropriate amount off the bill for the inconvenience then this would have been resolved but unfortunately it was not dealt in that manner at all. Wouldn’t recommend.

My partner and I have been coming here for years. While living in Northampton we came here often. Now we are further afield we come here when we get the chance. We ate in and it's exactly the same as when we visted years ago. It's quite dated inside, and the toilets are unclean. That being said don't let the toilets phase you. The food is always plentiful, hot and tasty. It's not greasy and it's great value for money. There are a few members of staff who have been there for many years and they are all very polite. I can't rate it enough. People who are not happy with takeaway, when you are transporting food (with the food being so hot) the bag gets sweaty, takeaway is never the same as eating in. Why not eat in just once and experience the food steaming hot as it comes out? As always we will be back!!

We ordered a pot of satay sauce, which when delivered turned out to be curry sauce. Thai prawns tasted like toilet cleaner. The spring were awful. The shucked balls were barely battered. The sweet and sour sauce was tasteless. Salt and chilli chips were sweating and wet, with the majority of the box being vegetables. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. I even rang to complain and they didn’t want to help me out at all, considering I had just spent £30. do not go here for take away.
