Underground Campus Kitchen - North York

Similar to many other restaurants at York University, The Underground takes advantage of the fact that they have a guaranteed customer base and therefore do not feel the need to prioritize customer service.

One of the best relaxation spots in York. Always a great time for drinks and appetizers.

I didn't expect much, but this turned out to be perfect for lunch with someone who works at the Ontario Archives, now on York University's Keele Campus. Aimed primarily at students and faculty, the Underground is considerably more upscale than the eateries in the food court one floor up. I had a Caesar salad with chicken and found it to be very good, though, as usual in this town, there was no sign of anchovies. The coffee was passable; the two-bite brownie I had dessert was luscious. If you're on the Keele Campus and looking for a meal, the Underground will do very nicely.

To be honest, the low rating is usually deserved.
