Went in for the 6.99 lunch, had a plate of food and was charged 15.81$ on my card, in small writing on tiny sign says lunch special only good for take out, 13.99 eat in. This is not a real buffet, it's a bunch of chicken balls and dried up **** they call food, ignorant sons of b-ches, dirty filthy place , STAY FAR AWAY
My son loves this place. You come in for the all you can eat buffet at lunch. Sure it's steam-table food, but it's fresh, and it's tasty, so what more are you looking for ?
I went here today for the first time after hearing about this place for many months. Oh my gosh...what took me so long!!! I have celiac disease and can't eat gluten. The food was amazing. I have been missing Chinese food like this for many years. The owners are so kind and patient. Very knowledgable about CC. I felt great afterwards. Their main business in regular Chinese food, which my family said was delicious! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed! They are aware of other allergens...just ask.
This review is in the context of me having lots of allergies (soy, gluten, peanuts, eggs, milk), which makes it hard to eat out, especially asian food.I went here by chance, and was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and knowledge of the owner, who put great effort into finding allergy friendly foods I could eat, telling me about how they made the food items, dough, and so on themselves. I ate the bamboo sticky rice and beef balls (delicious!) and had a lovely time. The allergy food was a bit pricey, but I have no problem with paying extra for something healthy that I can eat without worrying about getting sick. I would recommend going there to anyone with dietary considerations.
Tl;dr: Absurd random price hikes by the owner, several strict rules for a supposed "buffet", the owner constantly monitors at you during your entire stay (to make sure you don't steal??), no free tap water, and stale food.I had high hopes of finding an affordable buffet, but instead I found a super stingy owner running a militant restaurant. The "Buffet to Go" in small sized box is priced at 6.99 but is subject to the owner adding an arbitrary amount of money for "overfilling the box (even if it closes normally)" or even if you choose "too much meat and not enough vegetables". What the heck? You even have to fill half the box with rice or noodles, and even while following all these rules, he decided to charge me $10 for the $6.99 box. The owner, who also works as the cashier, is pushy, and constantly on surveillance even when you are eating. Additionally, no water or even tap water is free, and must be purchased for $1.25. He also only provides a single napkin per customer even if you ask for more. When it comes to the food, it is mediocre and generally stale, so it suffices for fast Chinese food but it was definitely the worst "buffet" I ever ate at. For the price and amount you get, you are much better off paying around $5 and going to Imperial Buffet or Mandarin for lunch. Never going back there again, and I regret paying $10 for the least satisfactory lunch I have ever had.
