Contribuiți la feedbackI visited this restaurant for my birthday and found the pasta to be average—decent, but could definitely use some improvement. The atmosphere is pleasant, especially after a long day of shopping at Yorkdale Shopping Centre, where the restaurant is conveniently located. I was pleasantly surprised by their drink menu, which is more impressive than the food. Our server was very polite and attentive too. Overall, I would recommend coming back!
My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant on a late Friday night to celebrate my birthday. To our surprise, it wasn't crowded at all, and we were seated immediately. I adore the venue, which combines a rustic English-Italian ambiance with a modern touch. The front area features impressively high ceilings and large windows. If you’re fortunate enough to be seated there, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the sunset.
To start, I had the tomato bruschetta, which was perfection on a plate. For my main course, I tried Genaro's Tagliatelle Bolognese, and it was by far the freshest pasta I've ever encountered in North America—definitely the closest to what I've tasted in Italy. The orange blossom polenta cake was light, flavorful, and delightful. And the cappuccino? It was the real deal! I also appreciated how frequently the menu changes, which keeps things exciting. The menu is thoughtfully designed, featuring some brilliantly curated wine options. I highly recommend the 2015 Sauvignon Blanc, Ca'Bembo from Friuli, Italy— it has a unique taste with real depth. One thing I noticed was how quickly the food arrived. Upon reflection, I realized this might be due to the restaurant's location, catering to shoppers looking for a quick meal before continuing their day.
Love the decor and vibe of this place, perfectly executed. The wait staff are professional and address the chefs as their proper titles. Our server knew the menu and made great recommendations. Calamari for an app was the right choice, sprinkled with chille peppers and a chille mayo, perfectly cooked and seasoned. We ordered the ravioli which was on a special and the meatball pepperdelle. Both which were delicious but very much on the salty side. Good size proportions, wish there was room for dessert! Families, girls night out..this place is perfect for any occassion.
After we were finished the appetizer, our mains arrived shortly. The Parma pizza was a classic Margherita pizza (crushed potatoes, basil, fior di latte, with extra virgin olive oil) topped with prosciutto, arugula, and Parmigiano Reggiano (hard, granular cheese). This was really, really good! The pizza was thin crust and it was so thin that when you held it up, it was like holding a cracker. The ingredients just melded together so well and it was really delicious. The prosciutto was really good — sliced thiny, too! I could have eaten another half of this pizza if there were more.
