Contribuiți la feedbackI was feeling quite hungry as I drove past the restaurant since I had skipped dinner.
Big Smoke does a solid job with their burgers. However, the prices are on the higher side and the sides could use improvement.
The staff was very helpful and courteous. A great variety of hamburgers with unique flavors. The burgers were excellent and yummy Poutine. Wasim was amazing!! Thank you so much!
Stopped by on Easter Sunday to try this place. Reviews on line were positive so we went in hungry and full of expectations. Ordered two combos the big smoke with onion rings and the blue with fries. Holy &@"!!!! 30 $$. We received out burgers in about 4 minutes and were told they were fresh and not precooked. Flavor wise they actually tasted burnt even though close inspection did not show any undue charring. Strange both burgers had the same after taste. The blue burger was bland and the rosemary garlic mayo tasted just like regular mayo. Even blander. The big smoke was greasy and rather messy with the horseradish mayo tasting a lot like the garlic rosemary. Had to eat the burger with a knife and fork as it couldn't be held. The fries and onion rings were the best part of the meals which in itself is a poor comment on the quality of the mainstay being the burgers. Would I return. No. There are much better places in the area which provide more flavor for less cost. Holy chuck being our favorite.
Wanting to try something new, and with Micky Dees across the street, I thought why bother when a fresh one may be much better for a little more money. So, we had the small hamburger combo and would say that it is good but if you want lots of meat do a regular sized burger from their stock menu. We also had the "Crazy" burger making it a combo (which is a good deal) with rings over fries and it tasted like real smoky meat. I can tell the difference when my hands have a smell well after eating, a burger with "goop all over it smell" I call "hamburger hands". My fingers this time around smelled like smoky meat,...a good thing. I am not a fan of changing up a combination of toppings on a burger (or sub for that matter) when a restaurant puts the burger style together for you so I did not add extra of anything. The rings were really good and meaty and some very hot inside. Got about 6 rings with my order, they were big, wondered if I did not combo it would I have gotten more? The combo price with drink included I think was cheaper than a side dish and drink separate purchased by a long shot. I am a tough one when it comes to fries so I would say they were average. I may have the poutine next time as the price for a small one was good. And when there next time (yes I will go again next time when in the area), I am going for "meat!" , the Double King" even though the Beast" looks good too. I am glad I read here that the drinks from the fountain was refillable. Good deal. And I have to shout out to the meticulous cleaning of a staff member, who also lined the chairs up just so. Nice to see younger people into their jobs, I felt all the staff cared. Yes pricy, but if you think about going to a big chain these days, if you don't have a coupon, its 1o bucks for sure, so you pay 2 bucks each for something fresh and different, and if I come get the "double Big" burger, it is just a touch more than a big Mac. Like all places you have never gone to before, it is tough to read the menu and learn about their "toppings" ,..its the way it is with a new place so take your time and don't feel pushed to order, ask questions regarding the toppings or just have faith in their stock combos.
