Gilbert's Chowder House - North Windham

I just had the best lobster roll ever, and the coleslaw was quite impressive as well. This was my first time visiting during a weekend with my sisters, and I was really impressed. I will definitely recommend coming back. Great job, waitstaff Brittany!

The food was expensive and disappointing. The bowl of clam chowder was decent; it had a thick consistency but was a bit too sweet. The homemade Alfredo pasta with grilled chicken was not great—there was too much sauce and not enough flavor, and it could definitely use more seasoning. To top it off, the food was cold. The combo platter was $32 for a small piece of haddock, six tiny scallops, and fries. On a positive note, the waitress was friendly, and the service was quick.

Unfortunately covid has hit this resturant hard. Very few employee's. All are on unemployment and won't work. So slow service good food however.

If you like to be told to leave then come to Gilbert's. They don't mind over serving every person at the bar. Enjoy have old men who are drunk as hell and disgusting hitting at you and staring at you at the bar. They take over 30 minutes to bring a soup, when you ask why it's taking so long they say they have other orders. Instead of saying we apologize for the wait, they make you feel like you shouldn't have even come there to get dinner. They act like you are not a customer that should come to their establishment. I'm a tip paying guest, who deserves regular treatment when I go to a place for dinner. Thanks for the terrible experience.
