Contribuiți la feedbackAs we were looking for two seats at the bar, a woman kindly approached us and offered that a couple was leaving, suggesting we take their seats. How thoughtful! We settled at the bar, enjoyed some cold beers, had a lovely conversation with the couple next to us, and joined in singing along to the songs played by the DJ, who seemed to start around 10 PM since he wasn't there when we arrived. The service was fantastic, and we had a great time. We'll certainly keep Goodnight Irene's in mind for our next visit to the area!
Goodnight Irene's has reached an all-time low. I was there last night to catch the Phillies game, and I was disappointed to find that the beer selection, which used to be one of its highlights, is now the smallest it has ever been. The place was empty on a Saturday night and looked dirty. You know the feeling you get in poorly managed bars that seem sticky? That’s what Irene's feels like now—a sticky dive bar. To make matters worse, a cockroach crawled across the bar while I was sitting there; the bartender noticed but didn't seem surprised or concerned. And, of course, no decline from a once-beloved gastropub to a dive bar would be complete without a few locals playing darts by the entrance. The outdoor bar with live music might keep this place afloat for a few more years, but it really needs new ownership to inject some life back into it— ASAP.
We stopped by for a meal before the final night of the Country Music Fest. We've dined here before, and we appreciate the cozy family beach bar atmosphere. They had Chimay White on tap, which I ordered two of. The service was excellent, and we tried the Kielbasa special and a margarita pizza. The sausage was fantastic, but the pizza was disappointing; the sauce resembled tomato paste and the crust was soggy. Others at our table seemed to enjoy their food, so it seems we should have opted for a different pizza, as some ordered another one and loved it. We would definitely come back when we're in town. - Nancy and Mark.
This restaurant has really declined in quality. It used to be celebrated for its impressive selection of over 30 beers on tap, but during our visit, they only had 4 available. We started with the French onion soup, which was delicious, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Caesar salad consisted of nothing but romaine lettuce, some strange croutons, and a plastic container of poor-quality bottled dressing. The margarita pizza was disappointing as well; there was no fresh basil as advertised, and it was lacking in cheese. The sauce was overwhelming with garlic powder and oregano, and the crust was far from good. On a positive note, the bartender was friendly and helpful. He explained that the restaurant is in a rough patch because it was sold, but the sale fell through at the last moment, which might explain the subpar food and limited beer options. Let’s hope things improve as summer approaches, because if not, it might be time to say goodbye to Goodnight Irene's.
I really enjoy the extensive selection of draft beers available here, with over 40 options to choose from, so there's something for everyone. I also appreciated the bartender's expertise; he was well-informed about the beers on offer and provided great recommendations. The food is typical bar fare, which is perfectly acceptable. I might have even had the largest mozzarella stick I've ever encountered. They accept credit cards, which is a plus. Overall, it was a great experience.
