Some wonderful food offerings, a selection of local small businesses which they support and provide a variety to suit all tastes. As well as cobs, nibbles, sandwiches and chips most daytimes. Very dig friendly, we always take our two little yorkies here and they love it. We find it to be a charming traditional place to visit. Cosy and warm inside with a pretty garden terrace area at the back on nicer days. We don’t like to tell too many people as we don’t like it getting too crowded. However after reading some negative reviews I decided to write our views on the new inn.
I have used this place for many years mainly to meet friends from nearby. The place has always been dirty part of its charm to some degree) but recently when I visited the family not staff) were rude and I/we felt most unwelcome the beer was awful, I had to leave it was that bad. It seems that the place has become even more clicky the food is ok but consists of no effort pop ups with varying success the fish and chips are good but that is the only good point. There are plenty of other local pubs for food or just a quick drink where they are actually pleased to see customers perhaps that will explain the lack of customers here.
Excellent for mobile fish chips , brought into the pub, everything provided. Lovely proper pub full of old artifices including old Irish Masonic certificate on the wall. Very cosy, good beers . Friendly and plenty of parking.
This pub is a gem, offers outside catering to enjoy in the pub. Monday nights , fish chips excellent value a good selection of beers , the current guest is a delightful Hoppleganger , worth a visit just for that . Tuesday Pizza night never been but tried the Jamican night on a Wednesday , nice different cuisine . Its a must try it out
So nice to visit a 'proper pub '. We hadn 't visited for years, but it hasn 't changed. Thank goodness! No TV or music or children running around. They would have a job to run around anyway as small cosy rooms totally packed with a collection of hundreds of intriguing items. We ate fish and chips cooked in the chippy van which were probably the best I 've ever had. Very friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be going again to sample another 'takeaway '
