The location was excellent, as it was conveniently close to the attractions we wanted to explore. There was also ample free parking available. The room was clean and cozy, and I have no complaints whatsoever. I would definitely choose to stay here again.
--- I found the accommodations quite satisfactory with a comfortable bed, decent water pressure in the shower, an in-room fridge, free parking, reasonably good Wi-Fi, and a clean room. These positives definitely addressed the essential aspects of a hotel stay. However, at nearly $900 for two nights, I expected more. **Cons:** Due to an injury, I was using crutches and had to park far from the front entrance since closer spots were occupied. I was instructed to place a handwritten parking pass on my windshield. While I typically understand such requests, especially after providing my vehicle information and license plate number, it left me wondering about the necessity. Additionally, I forgot my razor and called the front desk. Although they had one available, I had to go pick it up myself, which meant more crutching back to the front desk. This might not have been an issue if the two staff members hadn't been preoccupied with their phones when I arrived. A more courteous approach would have been to offer to bring it to my room, as I've experienced with other hotels. The vending machines only accept coins—really? It's 2023! This meant another trip back to the front desk for change. Speaking of outdated, the hotel itself could use some renovations. While it features a lovely fountain outside, the interior tells a different story. The rooms need significant updating, the elevators are exceedingly slow, and there’s no room service, despite having a restaurant and pub on the premises. When food is delivered, the elevators are locked, requiring the delivery person to have a key, and they often call to confirm your order, which adds to the frustration. In my room, the Keurig coffee maker was unplugged, and while I typically would plug it in myself, the outlet was located behind the fridge. I wasn't about to navigate the furniture just for a cup of coffee, so I ended up searching for a Starbucks to satisfy my caffeine cravings. Overall, this hotel serves as a basic place to stay but is quite unremarkable in both appearance and service. I wouldn’t be surprised if the manager responds with a standard apology and promises to address my concerns, only to take no real action.
What truly sets the Holiday Inn apart is its attentive service. The staff are incredibly friendly and consistently go out of their way to enhance your experience. From the front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant team, everyone is dedicated to providing exceptional service and ensuring that your stay is memorable. In summary, I highly recommend the Holiday Inn in North Vancouver to anyone looking for a great place to stay. With its convenient location, welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding service, it's the perfect base for your next adventure.
We finished our rather unremarkable meal, which was about what I expected. After a long wait for the bill, the server excitedly announced a 15% discount. Seriously??? That came out to roughly $6 off for having a fingernail in my son's drink. If the manager had approached the situation differently, I would have been eager to write a glowing review about how the staff went above and beyond to rectify the situation and showed genuine concern for the customer. With a $70 bill, what does good customer service truly cost in the long run? Sadly, it seems they might not take this as a learning opportunity. It’s disheartening to see this place decline so much. I guess I’ll be recommending the Pinnacle in Lower Lonsdale or other nearby establishments to out-of-town visitors instead.
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. They kindly permitted us to check in early, which was incredibly helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and having two dining options on-site was perfect for our family. Unfortunately, we became ill after our previous accommodations and had to cut our stay short by a day. We’re eagerly anticipating our next visit, especially to enjoy the indoor pool. A special thanks to the fantastic staff, especially Shima and another gentleman at the front desk. Your kindness and exceptional customer service truly enhanced our experience.
