Omni Cafe - North Tyneside

We have dined at OMNI on multiple occasions, but tonight's experience was extremely disappointing. The rice was bland, the salad was overdressed and soggy, lacking any contrast for the main dishes. The Malaysian fried rendang chicken was a soggy mess with a tasteless, thick brown sauce. It seems like there may have been changes in the kitchen or it could be due to it being midweek, but the overall quality was very poor. It felt more like takeout in plastic containers rather than the high-quality restaurant food we have enjoyed in the past. We were left disappointed as the food did not live up to our previous experiences of flawless dining.

We were mistakenly charged for an incorrect item at the restaurant. There was no apology or offer to refund the difference initially, so we had to ask for it to be corrected. After some hesitation, we were finally assured that the difference would be refunded to our card. However, a week later, we still had not received the refund. This experience made us question the attitude and competence of the staff at the restaurant.

The food is overpriced for the portion size, which is small and not very filling. The markup on wine prices is unreasonable. I would not choose to dine here again.

Visited for the first time just before Christmas with family. The staff provided a great welcome and service throughout. The food was both flavoursome, well cooked and plentiful. The menu isn’t huge but all the dishes are fresh full of flavour and utterly delicious! The slow cooked beef shin curry with peanuts was my favourite. A full range of ice cream sundaes awaits for dessert. Thoroughly recommended for a delicious evening meal in relaxed surroundings

They didn't get off to a good start when they told us the list of items they didn't have, chicken and mushrooms for example. We were told our table was the big one around there, with a point. Menu is very very limited indeed. Food was quite good though. Ultimately we came.out thinking we didn't get much for the price we ended up paying. As a group we had been here before but won't hurry back.
