Spitfire Grill Restaurant & Catering

The location is terrible. Sitting staring at a fuel tank on an airport does not appeal. The menu was interesting but the end result was not worth the wait. Service was okay, but overall to be avoided.

We had lunch here and enjoyed a great value soup/sandwich combo with a beer. Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is casual with lots of aviation memorabilia as decor. Close to the airport, but not close enough to walk to from the passenger arrivals area.

Had the best Cob Salad ever - presentation was fantastic - others had Chicken Fingers, liver and onions with a delightful salad - we sat and watched the planes land and take-off - great view. Then 5 minutes down the road we went and saw the Cooper Hawks Memorial Feathers that pay tribute to the fallen airmen - what a feat to cut, stencil and make this park a remarkable memorial - parking is on side of the road but well worth the journey - will make another lunch reservation - staff were excellent

We went to the Spitfire Grill for lunch on a rainy day, and the ambiance was appealing. The staff were very pleasant but the food was mediocre. I ordered the Roast beef Dip and Salad. The salad wa typical, being OK but the roast beef had a lot of gristle, and was quite unappetizing. Will probably go back and give the spitfire Grill another chance as the staff were so pleasant.

Being on the edge of the runway at YYJ is a super interesting spot to have lunch, so the view here is not to be missed.Food and service are solid. The menus are part diner style food with some more interesting items, which is great to please a group.My wife and I had a shrimp and cream cheese stuffed avocado over a salad and it was outstanding. Kids had burger and fish and chips and were just as happy.Great choice and we will be back.
