Ollies - North Norfolk

We ate here by chance, as the bad weather meant most places were full. It was a good choice. Very friendly staff, a very good pint of Wherry, and a burger somewhat better than steaks I've had in other places. Most impressed by the fact that they will serve half portions (at half price which suited my wife as she has a smaller appetite (though this leaves room for dessert... The bread and butter pudding was huge and delicious.

Excellent service ! Always accommodating will try to fit you in if you haven't booked. Local or tourist Ollies are worth a visit ! Great range of food by all accounts locally sourced.

Called in for a drink to shelter from the rain. Lovely cosy pub with a dining area. Quite a few people were eating and the food looked good and appeared to be served promptly. Even better for us, we had timed it for their Happy Hour. Popular with locals and visitors alike. Would definitely recommend a proper pub with good service and good beers.

The food was hot and delicious, but unfortunately, there was a blonde hair in the pork and Stilton dish. When I pointed this out to the waitress, she simply walked away and did not return. The five of us found the menu to be lacking, as there were no chicken nuggets available for the child in our group. The other adults ordered starters and sides, but the table service was poor following the hair incident. It took twenty minutes for the child's dessert to arrive, and when it did, it was placed on the opposite side of the table from the child. The waitress seemed annoyed and left hastily. No one came to apologize for the hair in the dish, so we have no plans to return. The restaurant was not overly busy when we dined at 6:00 PM on a Monday night.

We ordered the seafood platter for two, but were disappointed with the bland selection that arrived. Additionally, the bowl of salad was served without any dressing. When we asked for dressing, we received a bowl of chili sauce instead. The server was initially helpful, but then left us to chat with her friends about local housing problems.
