Black Bull Inn - North Lincolnshire

Amazing friendly warm welcome. Visited a few times now as family moved into village . Atmosphere is so warm and cosy makes you want to linger . Great banter from owners , go as a customer certainly leave as a friend . Good food lovely and plentiful . Well worth a stay when in area .

We popped in for a few drinks as we were staying in the area. We didn't eat and it was a wet day but we were very impressed with the warm welcome we received. I would definitely stop in again if I'm in the area.

After reading some bad reviews, I thought we would give the Black Bull Inn a try as it has now been renovated and recent reviews I read are better, the pub from outside looks bit uninviting as the car park had lots of rubbish lying around i e furniture broken garden ornaments etc, the garden area looked nice with lots of play equipment for children shame the weather was not better as would have sat in the garden, Me and my husband went on a Saturday evening the restaurant was quiet with lots of empty tables? Upon entering we were greeted by a young girl she was very friendly and smiley ,and was happy to answer all our questions regarding the gluten free options as my husband has coeliac , she checked with the chef when we queried a few things on menu ,we both had a diet coke from the tap not much flavour bit gassy so not sure if the barrel was getting low ?My husband decided to have the gluten free fish and chips and I chose the beef burger. We did have to wait a while until our food arrived , but to be fair it was worth the wait the fish was enormous and the chips were lovely, my burger had the most lovely flavour really impressed with the flavours and portion size had a job to eat it all . After eating that huge meal I decided to look at the dessert menu I went for the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream as its my all time favourite , when the pudding arrived I was very disappointed with the portion size of the sticky toffee pudding it was the most smallest piece I have ever seen it was a small square with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream not sure if the kitchen was getting low on the sticky toffee pudding shame I did not take a pictures ,I think realistically I paid £4.95 for 2 scoops of ice cream really, but I was not disappointed with the flavours of the pudding the ice cream had white chocolate shavings in real shame that the pudding was rubbish portion size, it has not put me off visiting the pub again but next time no pudding though shame as I look forward to my desserts .

Came up for a family wedding from Plymouthome. Went to the Black Bull for Christmas lunch. The place was lovely and cosy. The food was lovely nothing was too much trouble. Excellent service. The staff very was friendly and helpful well done making our vist so wonderful.

This place has changed for the better over the years I've been staying, the rooms have been modernised and everywhere has been spruced up. The bar side is welcoming and warmed in winter by a huge log burner. The restaurant is plush and the food very good which ever side of the hotel you eat. The beer garden is huge and well maintained, lots for kids to do. WIFI works well all over the hotel.
