Don Tortaco Mexican Grill

This quaint Mexican Grill is located in the food court of a Valero station, nestled between a Subway and a BBQ spot. As a gas station eatery, it’s fairly acceptable, though it wouldn’t match my usual expectations. The steak and eggs burrito I ordered and my wife’s rolled tacos were decent, but both dishes were quite dry and needed plenty of salsa to enhance the flavor.

The food here is excellent! I had the torta with carnitas, and it was amazing. They really pile on the meat, which I appreciate. The tortas and burritos are hearty, and I can only imagine the tacos are just as substantial. I definitely plan to come back when I'm in the area. The food is truly delicious. It's interesting to note that the negative reviews mostly come from Caucasians who claim the food isn’t good—trust me, it is; they’re just very selective. As for the comments about the cashier being rude, I thought she was quite nice. She was just busy trying to get the orders filled. Some people, honestly...

The staff was friendly, although a bit slow at times, likely due to the high volume of customers. The food was freshly prepared, the portions were generous, and the flavors were excellent.
