Waffle Shop - North Highlands

When this place is open, the food is excellent and the staff is friendly. However, unlike my experience with pancakes at another restaurant, the atmosphere here is lacking, and the interior feels uninviting. I noticed that the owner, Mohammed, at the Pancake Palace, has an unpleasant manner with his customers and even his sons. It’s disappointing to see such behavior in a restaurant setting.

Unfortunately, when I drove by this weekend, I saw that the restaurant was closed. The pandemic has really taken a toll on small businesses. Mom and pop restaurants are struggling to survive. This little eatery serves delicious food, and today I had the Bacon Pecan Waffle. It was topped with both chopped pecans and bacon, and it was absolutely delightful!

I absolutely love this restaurant! My dad and I always stop by for lunch after visiting the gun range. They serve breakfast all day, which is fantastic. The food is delicious, and the service is top-notch. Crystal, our server, truly cares about her customers. We even held a family Christmas gathering in their spacious back room.

Love the waffles! What really surprised me was her BACON... thick cut and of high quality. This is NOT typical for breakfast served restaurants these days, at least in this price class that is appropriate. I'm here 5 times in the last two months or so, and Crystal was my server a few times to today... She is a real customer service professional with a GREAT setting. The other employees were also solid servers.

Delicious food for sure! I ate every single bite, even though I was already plenty full. Definitely homestyle menu/food a whole homestyle atmosphere to the place. Also ALL the staff was friendly made me feel like they definitely appreciated my business. Great customer service! I'd definitely go back in the very near future
