The staff at the pub were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed a quick bite from the on-site chip shop before heading to the party, and they even arranged for a cab for us. Breakfast was delicious and served with a smile. Overall, The Bull lives up to its reputation as a cozy village pub with the added bonus of excellent customer service.
The location of the restaurant is convenient for getting around the area, but I was disappointed to find that the accommodations were quite basic. They reminded me of some less desirable motels I have stayed in during my travels in the USA. The restaurant and motel did mention they were undergoing a renovation, but it was evident that they had not yet reached my room. The breakfast was great and the service was decent for a village pub. The price for an overnight stay was very reasonable, but I recommend requesting a refurbished room if you decide to visit.
The restaurant lacked atmosphere and the service was quite slow initially, but improved later on. The menu differed from what was shown on their website. The tempura prawns were excellent and fresh. The steak was satisfactory, however the chicken on skewers was overcooked with black patches and there was no lamb available. The salad had too much dressing.
A wonderful stay right in the heart of Codicote. Food was great, plenty of bar beverages to choose from, friendly staff, good television (brilliant sport coverage), the room was also well presented with clean towels and complimentary tea and coffee. I highly recommend a stay here!!
Stayed at the bell motel as myself and my partner had got tickets to see Jim Davidson live at the arts theatre in Stevenage on the Sat night.so thought we would make a weekend of it.found the motel online it looked OK so we booked it to stay over on the Sat night after the show.it was a basic room but as it was October it was a bit chilly and the heating was just a wall heater which we had to switch on when we arrived.I would say the best bit of the stay was the breakfast on the Sunday morning.I thought the room was a bit overly priced.
