The Old Malthouse Tea Rooms

We called in for afternoon tea, with 2 dogs, when it had just started to rain, we asked if the dogs could come inside to the tea room and were delighted to find they were very welcome, even given a biscuit each and a bowl of water. The afternoon tea was delicious, with tea served in lovely china cups. The place is full of character and despite a previous strange review, the couple running this well stocked little store were lovely, and neither had tracksuits or slippers on!

Had cream tea here there was nobody in the cafe but the lady sat us in the garden and we were the only ones lovely cream tea and nothing to much trouble definitely recommend

Lovely breakfast, good quality sausage and bacon, nice china tea cups! Good price with lovely hosts and setting. Highly recommended!!!

My wife and I called in for breakfast earlier this month. The dining area is at the rear of the Post Office village store so rarely seen nowadays, they offer a bed and breakfast service too. It is a very pleasant old fashioned style dining area, and the couple who run the business were polite and friendly. However the breakfasts were unremarkable, and a trifle expensive. Not outrageous, and what you might expect from such a place. Overall it was a pleasant leisurely stop, a stroll round the picturesque village was enjoyable too.

We don't usually travel on the A350, but this time we decided to take that route on our way back from Poole. A couple of years ago, we had stopped at this quaint village tea rooms that is connected to the village shop and Post Office. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we could enjoy a late breakfast there. It was nice to know that there are still charming tearooms like this one, rather than having to settle for a generic roadside eatery. The breakfast and coffee were both good. We hope to visit again someday.
