We went for a drink and we’re refused entry and served reluctantly through a window as though still in full lock down. You couldn’t wish for a more idyllic location in a quintessential English village how could they get it so wrong. Time to move on and let someone who cares have a go.
A really lovely traditional pub, with a (probably) insane family running it. Never seen such an ability to be in such chaos and yet deliver the most delicious home made soup, and toasties with what I think was home made bread. Their nachos are good too, on a previous visit! I wish them well, with CV19 it's been a tough life running a pub, and I hope they are loved and supported into a full recovery. We will certainly be back.
Halfway round our 9 mile walk from New Yatt, we arrived at exactly midday only to find the doors shut! Not many minutes later however, we were enjoying very tasty toasties, served with salad and crisps, and delicious sweet potato chips, washed down with some fine beverages, all with a wonderful view across the green. Really set us up for a very wet return leg to New Yatt!
Myself and my husband arrived at The **** hungry and thirsty two thirds of our way through our bike ride. We were late for lunch but the chef made us a couple of very hearty honest sandwiches which totally hit the spot. The **** is a wonderful authentic pub family run without pretention. Coombe is a pretty village and the pub looks across the green. Visit before it 's ' discovered '. Julia
After a lovely walk round Blenheim Palace Grounds, The **** Inn provided the perfect place for a drink and lunch with our friends. Simple but delicious fayre, (very tasty toasties and sweet potato chips in my case), the setting outside overlooking the village green I. This charming village, was just perfect. Highly recommend.
