Contribuiți la feedbackAfter exploring the area and before visiting the carriage museum, we decided to have lunch at this restaurant. The food, while simple, looked appealing and was priced similarly to other National Trust restaurants. The carrot and coriander soup was disappointingly bland, with many diners adding extra salt. However, the cheese and ham panini was delicious and made up for the lackluster starter.
You have the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The range of food on offer is good, and quality is very good. You may have to wait a while for the food to be brought at busy times, but it's worth the wait. The chaffinches will keep you entertained.
A basket of delicious looking scones removed any ideas we might have had about what we would eat! They did not dissapoint!
We called into these tea rooms for coffee and cake during a visit to Adlington Court. Good coffee, lovely cake (coffee and walnut) and pleasant, helpful staff. Good choice of indoor and outside seating we chose to sit outside where there were plenty of wild birds in the nearby trees. Lovely place.
We enjoyed visiting the grounds and museums at the restaurant, but unfortunately, the tea room left much to be desired. The space was lacking in atmosphere and I waited in line for over 30 minutes while the staff took their time with one transaction. The menu options quickly ran out, leaving me with only sandwiches or chili con carne to choose from. It seems that the National Trust restaurants have lowered their standards and are now only serving average food. Hopefully they will step up their game in the future.
