Ivan's Restaurant - North Bay

Since we returned to North Bay, we've been disappointed in the absence of a good source of fish and chips. We decided to give Ivan's a try, even though it's not a fish specialty spot.Tonight, Ivan's won the fish and chip prize. The fish was perfectly cooked and tender. The serving size was generous and the price was reasonable. The dish was better than a nearby fish restaurant and it offered better value.Service is a bit different at Ivan's. You line up to place your order and get an identifying number to place on your table. When your meal is ready, it's delivered to you. The system works well, but there's a odd element to it. Since no individual wait person is directly responsible for a particular zone in the restaurant, four different servers cruised by to ask how everything was. Yes, it's nice to have someone check to make sure that everything was all right, but when it comes in multiples, it begins to get tedious.Other than "Is it okay, okay, okay, okay" the experience was good and we will return.

We eat here quite a bit as our daughter loves the chicken quesadilla (no veg) and it's always made right! I love their milkshakes. We all love the poutine. DH always orders one of the specialty poutines (cheeseburger usually). The restaurant is clean, can get busy during prime time and limited seating. We usually take out but gave eaten in plenty of times. Food is always hot made to our liking and always DELICIOUS!

Enjoyed our visit at Ivan's. Good hamburger and fries. Fast service and clean. Flight crew enjoying a quick lunch this was perfect. Everyone was nice. Food was good and service was fast.

Great little restaurant. The prices are good, and so is the food! The tables are set for a max seating of 4. This may mean if you have more than 4 guests, you can't eat all together. You have the choice of eating indoors or outdoors. The chicken fingers were very good, and fries were hot! I would recommend.

I used to live Ivan's, something has changed. I went in tonight for dinner. Called in a pick up order. I ordered a pogo combo. I was asked if I wanted mustard on my pogo, I said yes. I got there to pick up my food, paid and left, my pogo was burnt to a crisp and I was given one pack of take out mustard. What's the point of asking me if I want mustard on my pogo if you're not planning on putting mustard on it? You'd think they'd want to cover up the fact that they burnt the thing so badly. Either way, I am not impressed. I will not be returning until they change their cook again.
