Oscars - North Ayrshire

I visited the restaurant today and was extremely disappointed. I paid £22 for a sharing platter but found the food to be awful. The nachos were burnt and the tempura tasted bland. We left feeling hungry and the staff didn't even check in on our meal. It seems like they are aware of the poor quality of their food. I usually don't leave reviews or complaints, but given the high prices on the menu, I would suggest avoiding this place.

We arrived for breakfast at 10:20am without a reservation and were met with a rude inquiry about whether we had booked. When we said no, we were abruptly informed that they were not accepting any walk-ins. We have been to this restaurant for breakfast before, but never have we been greeted in such a hostile manner. Very disappointed with the service.

After driving for over an hour, I arrived at the restaurant for lunch around 11:40 am. Upon entering, I noticed two girls behind the bar chatting with each other. When they finally acknowledged my presence, the blond-haired girl told us to "just sit anywhere." We chose a table by the window, but there were no menus available. After waiting for about 5 minutes, I approached the girls at the bar, who were still engaged in conversation, to request a menu. I was abruptly told that lunch wouldn't start until 12. I returned to my table, and a few minutes later, the blond girl brought menus for us and another table. She then went back to the bar and began using her phone to chat with the other girl. Feeling ignored and unappreciated, my party and I decided to leave and go somewhere else for lunch.

Soft play staff especially ladies who behaved like a steward or door/man/woman, was explained to me that it was cash only for admittance, had to travel to asda in ardrossan b4 I could get cash, When came back to soft play /car park I c noticed the bouncer n two other members of staff outside smoking ,when the bouncer noticed me she made a beeline to get indoors to serve me/admit me n my autistic child n her friend into oscars soft play ,I was met with a stern whats ur name ,quite ignorantly, so goes in n same three staff members standing staring n obviously talking about me n my daughter, My daughter asked for a slushy and went up to cafe part to wait at least 5mins maybe more whilst all staff members where on phones .my daughter came back upset at way they eventually served her. Personally I will not be back at soft play ,im sure I'm not the first who has complained about this service. Tables around us not cleared or cleaned, this would put people coming back to this establishment because of clique of older bouncer n younger staff ,who I might add where pleasant to me but the bouncer needs to learn certain skills in customer services. Really disappointed in what should have been a fun cpl hours for my daughter turned out to be quite unpleasant. It's not the first time iv had dealings with said older bouncer/door steward person but on this occasion I feel its only right that I write this review,if I and others don't like the experience, then I'm sure a lot of others wouldn't come back for same said reasons.

Food was lovely was there with my family as we always go all the time , service is good always asking if u would like anything else , it’s a busy place so sometimes a bit of a wait but to be expected , overall I’m happy
