Contribuiți la feedbackHow is it possible that everytime I ask something with no mayo and no beans that's always what they put extra off in what I order. I stopped going there because I got tired of that, I gave them another try after 3 years. And still the same mistake.Food: 1/5
Love this hidden spot ! Foods always so good, a little salty in my taste but the flavor is amazing I would go again.
I was playing pool at the great Markley's around the corner, and wanted to stop on the way home for something to eat. I remembered someone mentioning a good Mexican restaurant around the corner in the strip mall. I walked by, and only saw a crowded market inside, but I went in. The restaurant is in the back, through a maze of Mexican groceries and goods of all sorts. After perusing the menu, I decided to try the chorizo burrito, and the mango juice drink. As I waited for the burrito, I sipped the mango juice. It was delightful. Served from a large jug into my cup over ice. Delicious. When my burrito came, I took it out to my car for the ride home, but started to eat it right away. It was perfect. Many ingredients, but all in beautiful and appropriate proportions. Flavorful chorizo, lettuce, avacado, roasted poblanos, beans, cheese...I know I am probably missing some things... All wrapped in a fresh flour tortilla. Awesome. If I may call it a sandwich, it was maybe the best I have ever had. And, constructed and wrapped so that I barely needed a napkin. The first half was plenty for me before the ride home, and a couple hours later the other half was not as perfect but still delicious.I can't wait to go back.
El Primo came highly recommended by a Mexican friend of a friend. I I wasn't prepared for the experience but certainly enjoyed it. We entered and found ourselves inside of a very densely packed (customers and merchandise) eclectic grocery store with not only food but large religious statues everywhere. For whatever reason, there was also at least one Spiderman statue. (Go figure) We continued to walk through the crowded grocery store and lo and behold, found ourselves in a very different world. The sudden contrast sort of reminded me of the Hollywood version of 1930's speakeasies. But this was not a speakeasy and no alcohol was offered. Instead we found ourselves in an very crowded, informal, clearly popular family restaurant. The food was very good, the portions very generous and the prices incredible. The waitstaff was helpful and accommodating. The décor was as interesting in the restaurant as it was in the front. There were more religious statues plus very large piñatas which hung from the ceiling. My friend, who loves Mexican food, was in 7th heaven. We will return.
It's my absolute favorite Mexican Restaurant in Norristown and the general area. Their salsa bar is absolutely unrivaled. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.Food: 5/5
