Rappahannock Oyster Co. - Norfolk

I received excellent customer service from Rappahannock Oysters. The clams that I got had great flavor. They only needed a quick wash for a bit of sand and were ready for roasting and later clams and spaghetti. I'll be ordering all of my shellfish from here!

After paying $130 to have 75 oysters shipped to Pittsburgh for Christmas we were disgusted when they arrived loaded with mud worms. Did I say LOADED??? Come on! Even a minor cleaning before shipping would have been in order.

We've had the Rappahannock oysters on the half shell several times. They are 5 star. Had the Mobjack Bay oysters on the half shell, maybe 3 star, really mild and the Chincoteague oysters roasted, not that great. Seemingly easy online ordering can be tricky.

Our review is for the website/online oyster ordering and shipping part of the business. We are repeat customers. We love the fast shipping, the fact that the oysters are local, plus the care and thought they put into making their customers happy. Once I jokingly asked for photos, and they sent them! Loved that. Can't say enough good things. The oysters by the way... are DELICIOUS. We've tried them all and can't go wrong with any of them. Learning over the years that we tend to prefer east coast oysters, this place is a slam dunk. Love the convenience of being able to order online.
