Island Krave - Norfolk

While traveling and needing to stay overnight in Norfolk, I struggled to decide on a place to eat until I found Island Krave. I ordered a large Jamaican jerk chicken mac and cheese, cabbage, rice with beans, a side of cornbread, and banana rum pudding. Every bite was incredibly tasty! I highly recommend it - 10/10. A large portion could easily satisfy two to three people. If I lived nearby, I would definitely be a regular customer.

Walking into the building I absolutely love the atmosphere! Talking to the ladies was a bonus point because you can't beat that kind of spirit. I've come by Island krave as a recommendation for my coworker I was skeptical because it's pricey and I'm cheap but after I tried the smoked wings I was instantly your love it's unlike any flavor that I've ever tasted before and wings so I had to order the same for myself. There are many flavors that you can individually taste

This is the worst jerk chicken I have ever tried. The sauce is awful and it clearly was not made with chicken thighs. It seems like they just chopped up some chicken breast and poured some spicy tangy sauce on top. I don't believe the positive reviews are genuine. It's likely the restaurant themselves writing them. I will not be eating here again. It was overpriced and lacked flavor.

I ordered the Jerk chicken plate w/ Rice peas, cabbage mac chz?. I tried it but didn?t eat it all? the sauce was more bbq tasting than jerk so it was kind of sweet which I didn?t like! I definitely wouldn?t get it again! Overall, the atmosphere customer service was ok, I LOVED her plants inside! I probably would try fried fish next time if I ever returned,other than that I couldn?t tell the meat was smoked whatsoever from the overwhelming bbq sauce taste.

Oh my goodness, this is the worst so-called island food I have ever tasted. This dish is supposed to be Brown Stew Chicken, but it is nothing like the real thing. I'm not sure where they found this recipe and chef. There is nothing authentic about this meal. It's terrible. It's clear that the people who left positive reviews are not familiar with real island food. As a Jamaican, I am deeply disappointed.
