Back Bay Bistro - Norfolk

The server hurried me to place my order as soon as I sat down. I was still settling in and browsing the online menu when she abruptly slammed her hand on the table to get my attention. I understand that I was wearing earbuds, but the way she initiated the conversation was inappropriate and definitely lacking in warmth.

The service was absolutely terrible. I've never wished so much that I was on the American Airlines side, where the service at the James River Grill is so much better. At least I can expect decent service there. Here, I asked, "Did you scan the QR code?" to which I replied that I had, but it didn’t work. The waiter mocked me, and I left feeling unappreciated.

I originally thought there were no dining options at the airport, but at the very end, I discovered Bay Bistro. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, a full bar, and a decent menu. The flatbread honey BBQ chicken was surprisingly delicious. However, the service was a bit slow, and the waitstaff appeared flustered even though it wasn't busy at the time.

What a POS this place is. Came in and sat down and used the QR code to try to order. When trying to check out on the website, it said sorry unable to process order. Please see your server. Went up to state the problem and was told she would be with me in a moment to take my order. That never happened because she was too busy clearing empty tables, collecting quarters and bitching about how she had a rough night to everyone (including customers) around her. 20 minutes later, I left and just went to Starbucks. No one cares how your night went. I came to your stupid restaurant because you serve food. Nothing more, nothing less. How many 1-star reviews do you idiots need to change your customer service?
