Zwolf Apostel - Nordrhein-Westfalen

We visited on a Friday evening and there were only a few free spaces. The restaurant is old-style, cosy and friendly, and we were welcomed and seated immediately. Our German was not up to understanding all the menu, which contained many local and seasonal dishes, but a lovely waitress came and explained all the dishes in simple German, and even went into the kitchen to fetch an ingredient to show us when we couldn't understand, which was definitively going above and beyond her duties!The traditional dishes we chose were delicious, but the portions were HUGE! I would have liked to try a pudding, but there was definitely no room for that. I would happily have had one meal between two..and would still have been full!

Really tasty food, lovely helpful staff but the portions are just HUGE - at least enough for two people on each plate. A good place to visit if you're hungry, it's excellent value for money as you get so much food for the price. Would visit again, but probably not eat anything else that day to leave room for it.

Very good everytime I visit there. I had the spare ribs special and it was amazing. Dessert also great.

I would go again but unfortunately the waitress was too rude there is not many options in the Menu but anyhow we wanted to keep it on the table but she didn't want to leave it.... she would not make it the Restaurant was not full at all anyway we tried to enjoy the Food that was delicious except the soup.

Went there with my mother and we had a very nice dinner. The portions are on the bigger side and everything we had was very good. The staff was friendly and quick. Will certainly go back with my family. Happy with the choice...
