Contribuiți la feedbackI look forward to date night at Matteo's. It is so nice to have such a romantic place in town. Love the bread, and always call ahead to save lasagna.
Baked Chicken special was dry even with all the sauce on the plate. Chopped salad looked and tasted like an Italian version of salsa. My credit card had fallen out of bill portfolio and waitress seemed to not care that it had fallen out and could not be found.
Waited a year to get there during the only hours they are opened and that seems to be for dinner only. Finally got there with a friend from out of town. We have both lived and traveled extensively throughout Europe and the U.S. The service was fine, but when the food finally came it looked very unappealing and it tasted even worse. The veal picata looked gray and had no signs of any capers with very little sauce and 4 little medallions on an almost empty plate. The Linguini with clams was HORRIBLE. The chopped clams were obviously CANNED! And extremely chewy, I like, and understand al dente, but come on! It was very undercooked. We were so tired we ate it and left after the waitress let us know that the Bananas foster was $17.50! Her explanation was that they made it tableside. Totally overprice for Bananas Foster even if they used the best ingredients! The place was almost empty and I can see why it was. Chef, do yourself a favor and clean up your act! Maybe we should send my friend Chef Ramsey to rescue you!!!
We have been here three times since 2006. On our first two visits the service was impeccable, the most recent visit the service was so-so for the price. Appetizer for one, three drinks, entrée for two, one dessert and one coffee about $125 including tip (20% . I love the calamari fritti, almost reminds me of Milan. The Chilean Sea Bass and cream asparagus soup are wonderful, if available.
