The Colonnades Tavern

My hubby and I chose to have a meal here on the basis that we had an Entertainment Book voucher we could use, and we had not been here before, and we were very pleasantly surprised. The food quality and prices were excellent. Service was prompt and staff were friendly.

We came here as we were attending a function at the Hopgood Theatre. The meals are fine and the menu has a reasonable choice. The staff are polite and it was quicker to go to the bar for another drink than wait for service. The prices are good and it has a nice atmosphere.

After an appointment and before some shopping, I called in to the Colonnades Tavern as I was craving a roast. The waitress recommended the slow cooked roast beef; and it was fantastic. I have been going to the Tavern for lunch for years, and have to say this was the best meal I have ever had there. I will be back!

My gosh! Seriously not sure what is going on here with the food. I ordered a Thai Beef Salad. I really did not expect it to be authentic Thai, of course, but... beef that has come out of a frozen bag, deep fried to smithereens that the colour is an awful brown, topped on a salad which to their credit did have mint and coriander.. then completely "drowned" in sweet chilli sauce. It was bad. Another ordered fish and chip meal... fish the size of a goldfish. Waitress was great, friendly and helpful but the food is an absolute let down. Not again that is for sure.

This pub is centrally located in the shopping precincts of Nourlunga central. The meals are your regular pub dishes. The fish and chips are good as is the good old snitzel with gravy and chips.
