Tonkatsu Tamafuji - Niu

Great tonkatsu, refills on cabbage and rice. I got the seasoned rice with seaweed. The white miso soup with clam is my go-to favorite. Reminds me of Japan dining. The lines are long, so we always make reservations and be prepared to leave with the smell of cooked tonkatsu in your hair and clothes. They could use more ventilation. Come hungry, they serve big portions, and we usually have to get a take out container.

Wait time was to long more than 2 hours they are bad with big parties only 2 people get all the service parties more than 4 good luck be ready to wait for a long time!

It was an dinning experience..I arrived at 5pm..put my name down..they opened at 4 pmBut they all so take reservation (it's a must you don't want to wait one hour 20 minutes like I did. But I wanted to try... let just said I was please with the meal...I won't go back unless I have a reservation..a block away there's rainbow drive in...of course not the same..

Very good tonkatsu. We ordered two sets, the shrimp and pork and the shrimp and chicken. The batter is thinly coated and the tonkatsu is crispy and not oily. We got the seaweed rice and the octopus rice, the seaweed rice was way better than the octopus rice, would recommend it. Overall, food is good but if you didn’t have a reservation, be prepared to wait 1.5 to 2 hours. At that point, is the tonkatsu that good that it’s worth a 2 hour wait? ?‍

No reservation and waited for 90 mins on a Saturday afternoon. The wait was worth it! The most amazing tonkatsu.
