De L Imperator - Nîmes

Brasserie L'Impé is wonderful place with exceptional food for its price. Young people are serving very well with good mood and great spirit. Excellent prices and great gardens outside the hotel to walk in the park and the city of Nimes

Sophisticated gourmet cooking. Splendid location in the garden of the hotel. Dishes made perfectly. Not very imaginative but done perfectly. totally go there if you first want to eat something really good.

This is a high end brasserie. By the time we left staff were flying about in the half of the restaurant that was almost full. Had the smoked aubergine/eggplant soup for a starter. It was not what I was expecting but very tasty. The mackerel was in anchovy butter plus carrots and cumin. The house wine selected by our hostess was good. There was a complimentary dessert. The place has a laid back feel but the cuisine is top notch. Throw in an espresso and the bill came to a bit over 100 euros.

It was our second time there.The food was good and creative,but we found portions were small.The local winelist is excellent,and reasonably priced. Some tables have low chairs,which is a strange idea.

We went there with a couple of friends for dinner. The four of us liked almost all the dishes we tasted. The only disappointing factor was he dish sizes;really too small.
