One a rare rainy Sunday afternoon in Nice, this ticked the box for brunch, (particularly as there was a big screen inside showing rugby.) The premises have been smartly refurbished; the look & feel is authentically French for anyone searching for typical bistro chic. The menu features daily specials as well as all the classics one would expect & a decent selection of wine. We ate eggs benedict, salmon fillet & salade nicoise, all of which were generous portions but slightly over-priced. Frites were excellent but the salads were over-dressed & very vinegary. Service was a notch less than efficient, but we weren't in a hurry. There seemed to be quite a number of locals dining as well as tourists, which we assumed was a vote of confidence. It wasn't special but certainly more than adequate for a casual pit-stop.
I've just got back from a meal here and have to say I'm a little disappointed. I had a black truffle risotto (€19) and found it quite bland. My partner had a tagliatelle with chicken, cream and cinnamon which was nice but pricey at €14. There were no drinks prices on the menu but we ordered a beer and a still water - which came as a very large bottle of evian. When the bill came the beer was €10 and the water €7. So at €50 for a very average meal, not the best choice!
