We called the restaurant and asked how long the wait was. The man on the phone said “we have 7 tables”. To clarify, I asked him if that meant that they have 7 tables in the restaurant that are open and there wouldn’t be a wait? He said at this moment there are 7 tables open and he can’t say what it would be after we hung up. Little did he know we had the restaurant in our site and walked quickly so we could get in line before anyone else had a chance to approach. There was 2 large groups of 5+ people in front of us and they refused to let us sit until they were seated. There was PLENTY of space and tables open but they wanted to seat the bigger groups first. 45 min later when we FINALLY were seated, the hostess said “just so you know there are lots of bees around here. If they land in your drink we will not make you a new one”. Uhhh thanks for telling us?? Very strange. 2) Ordering and waitstaff: The waitstaff literally looked like they were running around with no direction. Our table was dirty with salsa still in the holes of the table. Our server came and took our drink order. She was friendly. 15 min later we got our water and about 5 min after that my partner got his sprite. The hostess apologized saying the bar is backed up. We ordered our food seamlessly and our server was kind and polite. 3) arrival and tasting of food: We ordered two orders of fajitas. Mine was the chicken fajita with cheese melted on top. It had a special name on the menu and was a bit different as it didn’t come with lettuce, cheese, and pico. It came with rice and beans instead. The other fajitas do not come with rice and beans. You can order it for an additional $4. The fajitas smelled amazing but there was ZERO flavor. I can’t even tell you how peppers and onions, chicken, and cheese tasted like nothing. The chicken was clearly processed, I’m going to guess it’s not even made in house and they buy it pre grilled. It was super soft — almost an odd putting texture. Think center of a chicken McNugget. It just didn’t feel like real, home cooked chicken. My partner got the Hawaiian type fajita and he said it was good. I asked for a side of pico and it was uninspired. The tomatoes looked anemic. Its summer tomatoes are in peak season! The lettuce was full leaves of baby spring mix salad. I feel like that’s the wrong choice for fajitas. Shredded ice berg or romaine would have been better… no need for that type of lettuce that wilts and is not even crunchy. 4) price was ok. I didn’t feel like our meal was worth it but it definitely didn’t feel super over priced. All in all, they need better training for their staff — especially the front of the house staff. It just feels super mismanaged and mediocre. They could be better but with so many mistakes (I witnessed servers saying sorry multiple times) and higher quality food, it was a poor experience.
Should book ahead for this one lines from early to get a table. We had a great selection of food (House sauce to a must but be careful! good selection of beers and great staff.
The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere at this restaurant were all fantastic. It truly captured the essence of Mexican cuisine. Although we had driven by it many times before, it will now be a regular spot for us. The outdoor patio was bustling even on a Monday night.
The restaurant was bustling on a Sunday evening in June, but we only had to wait 20 minutes for a table. The staff was friendly and our food and drinks arrived quickly. They did mention that there was a 90-minute limit at the table, so keep that in mind if you plan on lingering. The peach margarita on the rocks was very refreshing. The 3 Amigos appetizer was tasty, especially the queso. I really enjoyed my fajita veggie burrito, which was filled with veggies, beans, and rice. The dressing on the lettuce and tomatoes on the side was delicious. If you're in the mood for Mexican food in Niagara Falls, definitely check out Taco N Tequila.
Awesome 5 star. Great Mexican ambiance, loved the wall art. Authentic style cuisine. Had the chicken El pastor tacos they were amazing, taste just like the streets of Mexico. Guacamole and chips was a large enough portion to fill you alone. Delicious
