Curry Queen is a gem of a find for me, my wife and two of our best friends when we were looking for a place to eat dinner on a Friday night in the heart of Niagara Falls tourist belt. The place is cozy with well-arranged seating. We were greeted with a warm welcome by the cheerful and friendly young lady – named Mehak. We ordered chicken biryani that’s good for two persons(thanks again to Mehak for letting us know). The chicken was delightfully tasty, tender, moist and delicious in combination with saffron fragrant rice(mildly spicy). We also enjoyed the curry chicken with naan. Surprisingly the best curry we ever had. With reasonably priced superb foods, this place deserved the name “maharani” – Curry Queen!
I had been to this place previously a few years back and it was good then. With that experience, decided to try this place out this time when I was at Niagara falls on the Labour day holiday with my family. Bought some Biriyanis out of this place. The portions were far lesser than what i had used to before. The food was unpalatable. It was stale and the chicken pieces were old. The rice felt chewy and lacked any Biriyani spices. It was the worst food that i had tasted in a while. What happened to this place? I do not recommend eating out from this place.
This was our first visit to curry queen and I was so taken aback at how great this place is. We had the buffet and it was really good! Extremely tasty, rustic, Indian home style food. I had the vegetarian options and my friend had the meat options. She also said it was really tasty. The main thing that stood out about this place was the excellent customer service. The gentleman who looked after us (not sure if he was the owner or manager) was so kind and accommodating. We asked if we could bring in outside food for our kids and he didn’t mind at all. He was so accommodating and helpful. He also allowed an elderly man who had dietary restrictions bring in food packed from home. He even got the food heated for them! He also helped some customers understand the food selection in the buffet and did his best to translate. If you want to enjoy great Indian food in an extremely casual setting I would highly recommended this restaurant.
My family of 5 were walking around and found this place. It was a buffet for $15 a person. A lot of great variety of food including meat and vegetarian. My most fav was the chicken biryani. It's worth a try !!
