The Public Office - Ngatea

Stopover on the way to our destination. We got really warm and friendly responses to our queries and ended up ordering 2 plates to share. The service was excellent and pleasantly surprise that the food was great. The coffee was super nice flavoursome and tasty with smooth coffee texture.

Quick efficient service and beautiful food. The 8hr braised beef was rich and cooked well. Bbq pork ribs were delicious and falling off the bone. The roasted Salmon had crispy skin and just cooked perfectly. Pay to call in advance and check availability and opening hours. Well worth the trip.

The staff at this restaurant are incredibly friendly and the food is absolutely delicious! I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the meals available in such a small town. I ordered the Benny's with pork belly and it was amazing! The eggs were cooked perfectly, the pork was incredibly tender, and the asparagus added great texture and flavor. I wish The Public House would open a location in Auckland Central. I can't wait to visit again!

I stopped at this restaurant while passing through Ngatea. The smoked salmon and pork belly eggs benedict were both delicious. The salmon was particularly good. The Nutella pancakes were also tasty, but quite sweet after a few bites. The restaurant is a nice little spot with ample parking.

Our group meets there once a month for knitting, chatting, and eating. The food is great and the service is excellent.
