Contribuiți la feedbackWe had also experienced a disappointing lunch (another failed Happy Pear endorsement) but had hoped for better service during dinner at this 5-star hotel. However, from the moment we asked about the bread being vegan, it seemed like our server had little interest in us. Our mains were taken away almost untouched, and no questions were asked about why we hadn't eaten them. We were left with the dessert menu for 20 minutes, only to be handed the bill before receiving our fourth course. Despite repeatedly asking for our missing course, we were told to just pay the bill instead. Fed up, we paid and went straight to Reception to speak to the manager. After listening to our complaints, he offered us a glass of wine as compensation, which did little to make up for the poor experience. It was amusing when he told us to "calm down" as he handed us the wine, but we tried to give Druid's Glen the benefit of the doubt. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant if you have any dietary requirements or expect good service. I certainly will not be returning.
My friend recently treated me to an overnight stay and dinner at Druid's Glen, and I can sum it up in two words: total disappointment. We are vegan and were happy to see that The Happy Pear offered vegan options on their lunch and dinner menus. However, when we arrived for dinner, we found only a vegan starter and dessert, with no vegan main course included in the four-course meal we paid for. We had to modify a vegetarian main course to make it vegan, but it was not good. The service was also terrible, from being practically ignored by our server to waiting 20 minutes for the dessert menu. When we asked for our fourth course, we were told to pay the bill instead. We eventually spoke to the manager, who offered us an expensive glass of wine to appease us. Overall, I would not recommend dining here if you have dietary requirements or expect good service. I doubt I will return.
I had a great experience dining at a hotel that offered vegan options on their menu. The Garden Rooms, which is the main bar of the hotel, had a selection of vegan dishes to choose from including flower cup wings, vegan pizza, and a Buddha dish. The flower wings were delicious, but the Buddha Shot was a bit odd – it could have been improved with the addition of rice as it only consisted of dahl, kimchi, avocado, and pita bread. They also offered soy milk as an option for tea and coffee.
It was a welcoming experience to find a hotel with vegan offerings on their menu. In the Garden Rooms, which serves as the main bar of the hotel, they had a few select options available, including flower cup wings, vegan pizza, and a Buddha dish. The flower wings were tasty, but the Buddha Shot was a bit odd as it lacked rice and only contained dahl, kimchi, avocado, and pita bread. They also offered soy milk as an alternative for tea or coffee.
I had a great experience dining at a hotel that offered vegan options on their menu. At the main bar, called the Garden Rooms, they had a few dishes marked as vegan including cauliflower wings, vegan pizza, and a Buddha bowl. The cauliflower wings were delicious, but the Buddha bowl seemed a bit lacking and could have been improved with the addition of rice. The bowl consisted of dahl, kimchi, avocado, and pitta bread. They also had soya milk available as an option for tea and coffee. Overall, it was a positive experience to find vegan options at a hotel restaurant.
