Olde Shoppe Restaurant - Newtown

This is a very lovely restaurant we happened to come across on one of our driving ventures. Very nice atmosphere,our waiter was very pleasant. My husband ordered the seafood chowder and said it was the best he has had. If you love chowder you must try this.After lunch we took the tour of the village,very interesting.We would highly recommend this as a stop on your journeys.

The location of this restaurant is fabulous, as my photo will demonstrate. The food is really good. Ordered mussels, lost count after 30. They were delicious, steamed with white wine, garlic and red onions! The Captains Chowder also was awesome! Went back a second night and enjoyed the salmon and the steamed pudding with run sauce!! The young servers are a breath of fresh air also. If you're in the area, don't miss it!!

Newtown doesn't offer a lot but the Barbour Heritage Village offers a bit of history and a good place to eat. The restaurant is clean and the food selection is good for the location. Staff are friendly and the food was out in good time.The Cod an Gratin is very tasty and hot; the club sandwhich was cool and average. Check out the gift shop too.

Nice atmosphere, bright coloured clapboard inside with views of water, outside deck has seating too for nice days.Fish and chips here was really good, fresh fish, cooked well with great batter ,that was not too greasy.If u get the same fish n chips as I had u will not be dissappointed.Plate was a little light on chips but, I wasn't looking for many fries anyways.Service was a bit cold and quite distance, which kinda took away from the visit to this charms village.This place takes debit visa and mc

If you're looking for a good lunch during your travels around the Loop, a stop here would be perfect. We had the chowder which was awesome, and the fish and chips that was good. The view is great, and the outdoor patio has picnic tables. It has lots of big windows, and the decor is simple and comfortable. Our server was friendly and competent. It was a cold day, so only a few people in the restaurant.
