We did wait 40 mins for fries that was suppose to come with the entree and the sauce for my crab cakes however it was good….Nothing to tell my mom about … However it is better restaurants that you can attend and have a great time and better food
This dish was absolutely delicious! I normally don't order fish because not every restaurant cooks them equally. I must say this salmon had so much flavor including the vegetables! This restaurant is a must try!
Absolutely delicious food, great service and a want for coming back. For starters I tried the jumbo lump crab dip, although it was delicious and not too heavy, there was nothing jumbo lump about it. The grilled bread points where just a flattened burger bun that was slightly pan fried so not good for dipping as they were too soft. I also had the smoked gouda mac cheese, this was absolutely packed full of cheese and delicious, but the flavor is mainly a cheesy garlic bread, as it seemed that they heavily seasoned it with garlic salt. I personally liked it. As for the entrees I tried the half roasted chicken and the braised short rib. The half roasted chicken was moist and flavorful, I absolutely loved it. The jasmine rice was cooked perfectly. The braised short rib was fatty and delicious, it came with a jus of some sort that tasted more like a smokey BBQ type sauce, I didn't end up using that as the short rib was delicious on it's own. The sweet potato fries are actually waffle fries and they were good as well and not too sweet. As for the drinks I tried the oaxacan old fashioned and wow was I surprised with the creativity of this drink. Overall I would definitely come here again and try more of the food. I do think that some of the menu item names and descriptions should be changed to better suit what the dishes are, such as garlic gouda mac cheese and just crab dip.
Cove Tavern was one of my favorites to visit when I worked nearby. At the time of writing, it is even better now. The staff is great and there is a variety of great food options. Definitely try them out if you haven't yet.
We came here to see a friend perform this past Thursday. Everything started ok. We ordered wings, 3 kids meals and my husband ordered the Chesapeake burger with slaw and potatoes and I ordered the Philly cheesesteak with fries. The wings were good, the kids enjoyed what they ate of their food. BEWARE: Our chicken tenders had bones in them! But before I could even begin to enjoy my food they started burning incense or had a diffuser nearby and there was no circulation because the ac was definitely not on my allergies went crazy. I started sneezing, my eyes wouldn't stop watering, and my face was itching so bad. Once It calmed down a bit I took a few bites. I wouldn't call that a Philly, I was disappointed. Both mine and my husband's dishes lacked any seasoning, the fries were decent though. I will say our server was nice and even though they were busy we didn't have to wait too long for service. But because of the irritant we most likely won't be back.
