Ultralife Cafe South Beach - Newport

The atmosphere inside was enjoyable, the food was excellent, and there were plenty of options for breakfast and lunch.

Every vegan knows that finding a good breakfast in a non-vegan restaurant or café can be quite the challenge. I was thrilled to discover this spot on HappyCow when we stopped by Newport for a bite. They offer a range of clearly labeled vegan options, including a breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito, and several baked goods (among them, a few donut flavors, a chai cupcake, and homemade Pop-Tarts). I ordered the breakfast sandwich, which came with vegan sausage and cheese on sourdough, and it was all fantastic—though maybe a bit pricey. The interior is well-designed, and there's a lovely view from one of the main windows. It’s located in the tourist area of Newport, so it's surrounded by other shops (the café is even connected to a gift shop through a back door). Unfortunately, this café uses disposable packaging for their food, even for dine-in orders, and they could improve sustainability by providing washable dishes. Overall, I was very satisfied with my choice for a quick breakfast stop and would gladly return if I ever find myself back in the city!

During a brief stop on Highway 101, I discovered that this restaurant doesn't offer any vegan options. It's worth the drive to the Nye Beach location, which is situated just below the beach.

I have the vegan breakfast sandwich with sausage, good vegan speck, folded only egg and vegan cheese. they had other options and I saw a vegan chocolate sky cupcake when I paid. I was in a hurry, but would definitely go back and explore her menu more. friendly staff! I called my order and it was ready within 5 minutes (purchased, it is the afternoon.)

Seriously good. Great lunch option. Super friendly staff.
