Sagebrush Steakhouse Newport

Considering the options in Newport this is a solid location. I eat here every time I am in Newport for work and I have enjoyed it. They have a wide variety on their lunch menu, you can order anything from a burger to a steak. They also have healthy options, and a bar area if you are there for dinner. Granted, if this place were in a larger city it would be a 3 star tops, but considering the other options if you are in Newport I highly recommend eating here.

We're so glad we didn't overlook this restaurant due to the reviews. The food was served hot, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The homemade chicken strips were especially delicious. Plus, they serve Pepsi!

I stumbled upon this restaurant while passing through and thought it was a better choice than the usual Burger King. There's ample truck parking located between the restaurant and the Motel 6, which is a plus. On a quiet Sunday evening, the atmosphere was nice, and the wait staff were friendly. The prices were reasonable for a steakhouse, and the menu offered a great variety of options. I ordered a blue cheese wedge salad and fried green tomatoes, and both were fantastic!

I stopped in at 10:30 on Friday night and the place was very very quiet. Plenty of parking outside though. Not in a mood for a steak or a burger, I got the pulled pork dinner, which comes with two sides. Hot mashed potatoes and cool cole slaw. Delicious! Cold beer, though the Coors Light tasted a little off.

On a brighter note, the cheese fries appetizer was delicious, generously loaded with cheddar, bacon, and green onions. It's hard to go wrong with those! The complimentary bread was also quite tasty. Overall, though, the meal fell slightly below average, which is why I’m giving it a 2-star rating. The service was good; our server was friendly, even though she was busy. We sat in the bar area, where we noticed one very intoxicated man stumbling around and leaning on patrons at the bar, spilling beer in the process. While it was somewhat amusing, he should definitely have been cut off. That's my take on the experience.
