Jack Sprats Bayfront - Newport

Excellent food, reasonable prices, good service all with an amazing view of the bay front.

I've always loved the Jack Spratt's in Cottage Grove, Oregon. This branch was just as yummy AND live music on Saturday night

Delicious Cod Sandwich with battered French fries which were unlike any I've ever had in a very good way. Plus the view of the marina with the bridge in the distance was great.

We had a birthday dinner this week at Jack Sprat's restaurant in Newport. Everything about the meal was fantastic, including the view overlooking the bay and marina. We both had salmon I had the salmon, potatoes, and asparagus and my wife had the salmon salad. All of the food was very fresh, perfectly prepared, and unusually delicious. The appetizer recommended by other reviewers (Sprat rolls) were amazing and I used the rest of the sweet chili dressing on the salmon. Wine was great and the raspberry bar dessert was dairy free and wonderful (so much so we had an extra one). The waiter Jason was excellent knowledgeable, helpful, and responsive but not hovering. His suggestions and recommendations hit it out of the park. I have a new favorite restaurant in Newport and recommend it to everyone, especially if you have dietary restrictions which they work very hard to accomodate.

Wished I could give 5 stars. They really put out beautiful plates of food. The mushroom burger D ordered was mushy. My Salmon salad was perfect. Service was slow so he was done w his meal before my new dressing was delivered. I was charged a $1 for it. He got a fresh non-alcoholic Holding Hands on the Beach and I a lemonade. Both were delicious but they put his in a smallish cocktail glass. Literally 2 swallows and it was gone. $6 each is a lot for a non-alcoholic beverage and no refills. The view was stunning and we enjoyed watching a guy clean his salmon down in the Marina right below us. The place was a quiet, clean and non-rushed place for lunch.
