Graeter's Ice Cream - Newport

Cute little ice cream shop. They have some great fall flavors such as cinnamon and pumpkin. The pumpkin flavor is more like a pumpkin pie flavor. Perfect treat before a fall hike in the woods.

I went today to inquire about any Halloween cakes. After a little back and forth about what I was asking about and what I wanted, I was told I could get a cake made specially, I would just need to have the order in before noon. I stated that I wouldn?t need the cake until the 27th, but would like to place the order in advance. The manager was very hesitant stating that was two weeks away and I could change my mind-he reiterated several times that I could just place the order the day before. I finally was about to give up and just go somewhere else when I suppose he sensed I wasn?t happy. He began taking my order and when I showed him the picture of how I wanted it to look-he said he needed to get the other manager to help. When this other, older man came out, I showed him the picture and asked him if it was possible to get close to the colors. He said he could but got off on a tangent about how they could only do basic stuff and what I was asking for I wouldn?t get. He said I would just be disappointed. Him and the other manager started talking over each other-the first one saying they might be able to do something like that if I sent the picture to the bakers. In summary, the entire time it felt like they didn?t want my business, I was man-splained and told how I would feel about something by a complete stranger, and I walked away unhappy. There was nothing complicated about what I was asking. I will leave a picture for reference but all I wanted was an 8? round cake with green colored frosting, some little frosting ghosts, orange frosting around the sides and a happy birthday message. If this is really to complicated for a bakery then it?s really not much of a bakery to begin with.

Okay ice cream but Liam is the star attraction. His dedication to the scoop industry is second only to his knowledge of the buisness. I was blown back by his exquisite culinary decisions in The Liam Special . Some say be is the Einstein of ice cream but I say he is the Ghandi. A peackeeper, a champion of human rights, and most importantly, an unending student of the craft. God Bless Graeters??

Horrible service. Waited 20+ minutes in line and couldn?t order through the sign?s intercom so we waited to order at the window. Some kid calling herself a manager said we?d have to pull around and wait an additional 20 minutes in line because store policy requires orders to be taken through the intercom. 4 young kids in our car already already tired from waiting and the rude worker (McKenzie) wouldn?t even hear us out. I kept trying to explain that we only wanted a single pint that needed no work, and would only take her 10 seconds to grab. But she just kept an ?I couldn?t care less about you? smile on her face and kept saying she wouldn?t take our order. She actually seems happy to be turning us down. I?ll never come here again and I hope others don?t stand for this poor service. Kroger is right down the street. Soft serve available at DQ and the Dairy Bar. Looking at other reviews it?s clear that the location has issues with it?s staff treating people poorly. The company comments as if they care but clearly they are not doing anything about it as the poor service continues.

Always great ice cream delivered with friendly service. The kids had shakes and I had a sundae, and we all enjoyed it very much! The service was fast and the staff were all nice, sharing jokes with the kids. This is a great location with reliable service, easily my favourite in the Cincinnati area. Update: I've been coming here for many years and seen many staff come and go. Regardless of who's behind the counter, the service is consistently fast and friendly!
